In an atmosphere of joy and feelings of achieving the goal despite caution and fears of the Corona epidemic, CYC – Shatila & Sabra celebrated on 9th July 2020 the ending of Summer Educational, Recreational and Awareness program for 84 male and female students, in the presence of the parents, popular Committee and local NGO’s. CYC director had speech about the importance of the positive experience as a result of cooperation between CYC and Parents. The great impact on the children educationally, psychologically and knowledge they carried out from the lessons in Arabic and English language and Math as preparation for the next academic year, in addition to developing talents and entertainment, drawing, Dancing, playing happy, handcrafts, and distinguished agricultural activity. Emphasis was on the necessity of facing the serious economic situation through solidarity and cooperation, adopting a different living system, reducing the expenses, searching for work and income that protects families from the needy and reducing poverty, trying to grow vegetables and some grains on any area, no matter how small, on balconies, or even linking them to windows or hanging on the walls, no luxuries today. The Director greeted the steadfastness of the parents, bringing their children to study despite the ongoing epidemic of Corona. He thanked the work team for their exceptional efforts with the children. That was clear with students love and asking not to close the program. Special thanks to friends in Italy, Sweden, France, the UK, Greece, Austria, Germany, Cyprus and others for the contribution to buy the foodstuffs, and then prevention and hygiene materials that were distributed to needy families in Sabra, Shatila, Nahr el-Bared and its neighborhood.After all the students performed a number of dances, sketch on Corona and songs. The event end with distributing the certificates to the students, everybody were happy, encouraged, with appreciation of the parents and the attendees.
